We are looking to serve at a variety of sites around Ann Arbor.
Wandering through a city, it's easy to notice areas that need a little improvement. We will be going into the common areas of Ann Arbor's sidewalks, streets, and alleys to serve the city's residents.
Community Action Network (CAN) is an Ann Arbor based nonprofit with the mission to serve families in under-resourced neighborhoods in Washtenaw County by providing educational and life skills programs for children and teens, and supportive housing services for families. Through its four community centers in Ann Arbor, CAN advocates for low-income families with schools, community service providers, and government agencies. The organization develops awareness in the broader community of the challenges these families face and strives to build strong, stable and safe communities, which benefit all Washtenaw County residents. The CAN sites we will be serving include Bryant Community, Hykone, Green Baxter Court, and Northside Community.
HMCC has been serving the various CAN sites for the past five years. We hope to continue building these relationships and look forward to participating in the CAN comunity for years to come.
The ECIR is a residence for international students living in Ann Arbor. We will be providing a luncheon for the residents and building connections with the international community through various activities.
The U-M campus is at the heart of the city of Ann Arbor, and we will be sending several groups into the campus to clean and serve in a variety of ways.
The Ginsberg Center promotes service learning on the U-M campus, and we will be supporting the center's work by helping with cleaning, maintenance, and clerical work at their offices.
The University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum exist to connect the community with nature. We will be serving at these locations by helping them get ready to open for the summer.
